Programs: Columbia University has four programs, two of them are summer immersions and the other two are college edge programs.

Summer immersions - New York / Barcelona

1-New York: 2 session program, 3 weeks each, grades 9-12

Dates: June 25 - July 13, 2018, July 17 - August 3, 2018

2- Barcelona: one 3 week session for students in 11-12 grade.

Dates: July 1 - July 21, 2018

  3. Modern Architecture, Urban Development, Art, and Design in Barcelona

College edge -11 and 12 graders:

Two summer sessions between May and August that run for 6 weeks

Courses: over 30 subject areas are offered in physics, biological sciences, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science as the leading areas.



  1. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3

  2. Two strong letters of recommendation

  3. Strong writing ability as evidenced in a statement of purpose and a writing sample that each showcase intellectual and academic strength and promise for continued growth and achievement

  4. Scores in the 85th percentile or better in all subjects on the PSAT, SAT, PACT, or ACT

Note: Students who are not United States citizens or permanent residents must be a full-time student at Columbia – registered for at least 6 points of credit-bearing courses in a six-week session or 12 points of credit-bearing courses in the entire 12-week summer period - in order to be eligible for a student (F-1) visa.
